Jeep Graphics Guide: Tips for Hassle-Free Graphic Installation

Jeep graphics are among the most effective ways of adding bold style to your ride. The Jeep decals & stickers installation process is easier than most people think especially when following our guidelines:

1. Choose the Right Graphics

First off, it’s important to pick the graphics that are appealing and fit your specific Jeep model. It could be a woodsy picture, racing stripes, or any other design, these graphics should have good quality and be able to withstand all weather conditions. Industrial-grade materials last longer, resist fading, and are easy to use, which is why we choose vinyl.

2. Prepare Your Jeep’s Surface

To maintain the perfect surface for application, we recommend a perfectly clean surface. First and foremost, ensure that your Jeep is cleaned properly using soap and water to remove any loose dust, grease, and other contaminants. After that, properly dry it to ensure that moisture contained under the graphics does not cause bubbles or the graphics to peel off. Ideally, you can use rubbing alcohol on the application surfaces to clean them and to remove any sticky remnants.

3. Plan Before You Apply

Take measurements of the position where you intend to place the graphics and make those markings on the surface. Do not stick tape directly to the graphic but use masking tape to hold the graphic in position so that one can step back and see what it looks like. This little step could save you a lot of headaches down the line from incorrect installation.

4. Work in Ideal Conditions

Installation should be done in moderate (71 – 80 degrees) weather. Do not place the graphics in an excessively hot, cold, or windy atmosphere and extreme conditions as these may cause peeling or warping during the application, or the adhesion may not hold at all.

5. Use the Right Tools

The installation process is easier when you use the right tools. A squeegee, utility knife, measuring tape, and a few more tools may be necessary for installation, plus something that emits hot air, which in this case could be a hairdryer or a heat induction machine. A squeegee simplifies the process of air bubble elimination, while the hair dryer makes sure the vinyl properly clings even to irregular surfaces.

6. Peel and Stick with Caution

Take your time to peel the paper off the graphic while exposing the sticky surface/drawing side. Squeegee one end, and at the same time push the drawing onto the surface. Move and apply pressure while working across the surface to prevent air pockets or creasing.

7. Air Bubbles

If you happen to get some air bubbles, don’t worry. Take a squeegee and push the bubble to the outer side edges of the design. For tough ones, take a pin, make a small puncture, and then cover with the squeegee.

8. Consider heat in FK curve areas.

When the design has curves or ridges, warm up the design using a heat gun or blow dryer. This heats the vinyl and allows it to fit the contour of your Jeep without issues. And after that, press down hard.

9. Conduct At Last

When the graphic has been placed, run the squeegee over it once more to make sure it sticks. Please let the graphic remain for 24 hours before coming into contact with moisture and harsh environments.

10. Caring for the Graphics

Wash your Jeep with light detergent and don’t use harsh scrub-away tools to keep your Jeep graphics in good condition. Don’t high water pressure wash the graphics directly, as this could damage the adhesive underneath.

With these tips, it’s easy and fun to install Jeep graphics as a do-it-yourself project. Your Jeep will not only attract everyone’s attention, but you will also be pleased to know that it was all your concern to make the ride different. Are you up to the task? Change your Jeep now!
